Music InterMezzo Program
Offering music study on all instruments for students (age 18+), students wanting to keep up their skills or become better performers, and music-lovers alike, where expectations of participants will be the same as the Young or Independent Artist Programs yet geared towards individual levels. It is not an amateur program where participants are often disdained without the expectation of serious study. The Music InterMezzo Program will focus on real improvement over time, while concurrently considering student’s diverse reasons for study: as a life-long pursuit, an amateur performer, a hobby, an academic interest, as well as individual schedules.
Participants of the Music InterMezzo program pursue their music practice in lessons, masterclasses, and concerts, just like the other programs at IISM, while participating in the InterHarmony Music Lab or Origin of Masterpieces round-table discussion class focusing on music philosophy, application, and music history. IISM believes everyone deserves to pursue the music in depth, gaining solid technical skills and musicianship that make them real performers, giving them something that they could carry throughout their lives. As society becomes more fast-paced and lives busier than ever before, IISM’s Music InterMezzo Program allows “students of life” to study music with a choice of either in-person, with a combination of in-person and online, or online without students or parents needing to leave the comfort and safety of their home.
During the summer, students have the possibility to meet professors in person, perform live, and participate in masterclasses given by Artist-in-Residence if the wish to apply to the InterHarmony International Music Festival in Europe, creating an experience “From Virtual to Actual”.
